About the role#
As a Legal Intern, you will work alongside attorneys and legal professionals at our headquarters. You will gain exposure to the legal matters that impact a large-scale retailer. This role offers hands-on learning and mentorship for students interested in the work of in-house counsel.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and emerging issues.
- Draft memoranda, contracts, and compliance documents under attorney supervision.
- Assist with corporate governance and entity management processes.
- Support attorneys in labor, employment, and compliance matters.
- Participate in contract review, negotiation, and risk analysis.
- Gain exposure to litigation management, intellectual property, and real estate transactions.
- Observe the role of in-house counsel in advising business leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Juris Doctor (JD) program with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- A 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and data analysis tools.
- Strong research, writing, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Relevant coursework or prior legal internship experience.
- Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Mooresville, North Carolina.
- The program runs for 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- This position does not offer sponsorship.
