About the role#
Lorain County Public Health is hiring an intern to join the Population Health team. This is a paid, part-time position based in Elyria, Ohio. You will assist with evaluating tobacco-related programs and share health information with the community. This role runs on a rolling basis and is scheduled to conclude by March 31, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze information using surveys, environmental scans, and other evaluation activities.
- Create educational materials, media releases, and content for social media and websites related to the tobacco program.
- Collaborate with staff and community partners on population health initiatives.
- Present your work and findings to the Population Health team at the end of the term.
- Assist with other projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and current state minimum automobile liability coverage.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
- Knowledge of public health, health education methods, marketing, and social media.
- Skills in data collection, problem-solving, and report preparation.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with the public.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple variables.
Location & details#
- This role is on-site in Elyria, Ohio.
- The schedule is 24 hours per week.
- Travel is required for this position.
- You may need to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
