About the role#
The Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Department is seeking student workers to serve as Welcome Desk Attendants. This position acts as the primary point of contact for students, staff, and community members using HPER facilities. You will collaborate with staff to ensure smooth daily operations and provide a professional experience for all participants.
What you'll do#
- Greet and log participants in and out of the facility.
- Answer general questions and provide information to patrons.
- Sign patrons up for memberships.
- Assist with the set-up and breakdown of equipment for rentals, athletic events, and classes.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of HPER facilities, including performing laundry duties.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current enrollment at Lorain County Community College carrying 6.0 or more credit hours.
- Minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Basic CPR certification (must be obtained upon employment if not already certified).
- Reliability, punctuality, and computer literacy.
- Strong phone etiquette and the ability to interact professionally with others.
