About the role#
This student worker position supports the Lorain County Community College student garden plot located at Baumhart Berry Farm. This is an unpaid, part-time opportunity available for the Summer 2026 term. The role requires working on-site at the farm approximately two days per week during regular operating hours.
What you'll do#
- Maintain the student garden plot, including weeding and caring for raised garden beds.
- Water and harvest crops throughout the growing season.
- Monitor the garden area and report issues regarding deer fencing or other maintenance needs.
- Assist with additional garden-related tasks as assigned.
- Work independently to complete duties in varying outdoor weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Lorain County Community College.
- Reliable transportation to Baumhart Berry Farm in Vermilion, Ohio.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to report concerns promptly.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- An interest in gardening and comfort performing physical outdoor work.
