About the role#
Lorain County Community College is hiring a Communications Intern to support the Talent and Business Innovation/Ohio TechNet team. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in communications, marketing, public relations, or business. You will gain experience by working on various projects that promote college programs, events, and community initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Identify audience needs and develop engaging content for marketing and communication projects.
- Write newsletters, email campaigns, articles, and success stories.
- Create and manage social media content to promote organizational goals.
- Develop visual materials using graphic design and multimedia tools.
- Assist with event promotion for workshops and community outreach activities.
- Maintain consistent messaging across all channels.
- Monitor and report on engagement metrics for social media and communications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a degree in Communications, English, Humanities, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of major social media platforms and content creation best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, part-time internship requiring 10 to 20 hours per week.
- The team will work with your class schedule.
- The role is hybrid, with the option to work remotely combined with occasional in-person meetings at the LCCC campus in Elyria, Ohio.
- Employees are expected to reside in Ohio within a reasonable commuting distance of the campus.
