About the role#
The Sustainable Agriculture (SAGR) Student Ambassador supports a new academic exchange partnership between Lorain County Community College and the Oberlin College Food Studies Program. This role focuses on welcoming students, promoting food justice initiatives, and helping peers navigate campus resources. Ambassadors gain experience in community engagement, leadership, and mentorship while helping to build an inclusive, cross-campus food and agriculture studies pathway.
What you'll do#
- Assist the SAGR Program Coordinator and Enrollment Coordinator with student orientation.
- Promote sustainable agriculture and food justice opportunities on campus.
- Welcome and support students exploring sustainable food pathways.
- Collaborate with student leaders and faculty across institutions.
- Help peers navigate LCCC campus resources.
- Share feedback to strengthen the initiative and distribute outreach materials to build program visibility.
What you'll need#
- Current LCCC student in good academic standing.
- Passion for food systems, justice, sustainability, agriculture, history, or culture.
- Strong communication skills with an interest in engaging peers and interactive learning.
- Ability to work as part of a team, take initiative, and remain organized and reliable.
