As part of this commitment, we are looking to hire an enthusiastic and passionate candidate, eager to contribute to our continued success through the following employment opportunity: About the Role The Undergraduate Summer Internship Development Program (USID) at Loomis, Sayles & Company is a paid summer internship program for first-generation undergraduate students. The USID Program offers direct experience in a professional setting by completing meaningful project-based work and industry-specific professional development. The 10-week program combines work experience, technical skill- building, and professional development. The program emphasizes mastery of the NACE competencies: verbal and written communication, creative thinking, work ethic, collaboration, networking, decision-making, and problem-solving. The internship is offered to those who are first in their family to attend college. Our goal is to provide a significant learning experience for deeply curious, hard-working students who have not historically had exposure or access to the investment management industry. Since this is a dynamic program, placement on a preferred team cannot be guaranteed; instead, we evaluate each participant’s current skill set and business needs when determining placement. First-round interviews will be conducted on October 30 and November 2, with second-round interviews scheduled for November 6 and November 9. Candidates are expected to be available during these dates. Job Responsibilities - Update and maintain regular reports used by members of the department and team placement - Prepare presentation materials, manipulate data, and present findings for team discussions and decision-making - Collaborate with team members on timely projects focused on market analysis, relative value in the market, or current economic analysis and trends - Attend team meetings and assist with follow-ups – providing reports and/or meeting minutes - Contribute to process improvement projects and help identify opportunities to enhance efficiency - Assist with ad hoc requests for special projects and prospect/client related inquiries - Participate and engage with weekly professional development workshops and investment professionals from across the firm Qualifications & Education Requirements - Strong academic credentials with an interest in relevant coursework in business, finance, or economics - Interested in following the markets, with some basic understanding of investing - Self-starter, capable of monitoring and meeting deadlines - Ability to multi-task, but remain diligent and produce accurate work - Dependable teammate who understands the value of good communication skills - A positive approach and flexible attitude - Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including creating reports, synthesizing data, and developing charts and graphs EEOC and Diversity Statement Loomis Sayles is deeply committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce in which talented individuals can realize their full potential and contribute to our growth and success.
