About the role#
The Quality Assurance Engineering Intern supports validation efforts for hardware, firmware, and software products within the IoT portfolio. You will work alongside quality engineers, developers, and product teams to gain experience in the full product development lifecycle. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, high-quality solutions through hands-on testing, data analysis, and improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Execute test plans, test cases, and validation activities for hardware, firmware, and software.
- Document test procedures and record results to support verification efforts.
- Participate in functional, regression, and system-level testing of IoT products.
- Analyze test data to identify trends, defects, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and verify corrective actions.
- Maintain test environments, equipment, and documentation.
- Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement projects.
- Contribute to quality records and reports.
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings.
- Present project findings and recommendations to engineering and leadership teams at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Sophomore, junior, or senior standing is preferred.
- Interest in quality assurance, software testing, product validation, or embedded systems.
- A basic understanding of engineering principles and testing methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
- Experience with data analysis, troubleshooting, or laboratory testing from coursework or projects is helpful.
- Familiarity with Python, Java, or C++ is a plus.
