About the role#
As an IT Helpdesk intern, you will assist in the design, architecture, and deployment of local area networks, computer hardware, and telecommunications. You will gain hands-on experience by working on real-world technology problems and contributing to team projects. This role involves supporting the maintenance and security of our internal systems.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot computer systems to find and fix performance bugs and hardware malfunctions.
- Maintain, repair, or replace computer units and other technological components.
- Manage the security and integrity of company hardware and networks.
- Perform database backups and update security protocols.
- Conduct system analysis to detect performance issues.
- Carry out research and surveys to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with team members on various IT research and development tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited associate, bachelor, or graduate program in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- Good academic standing.
- Basic proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A detail-oriented mindset and a desire to solve problems.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Omaha, Nebraska.
- The role is on-site, and we are only considering candidates who currently reside in the Omaha area.
- This position follows a rolling term.
