About the role#
LHB is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Energy and Industry Business Unit. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in a professional engineering environment. You will work on a variety of projects and support our team with design and analysis tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide mechanical engineering design and drafting for various projects.
- Assist with hydraulic or stress analysis and modeling.
- Support project engineers and managers with daily tasks.
- Work with clients to meet their project objectives.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and clients.
- Assist with construction administration, including field observations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
- Sophomore level standing as of May 2026.
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other design and drafting software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products like Excel and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to pass pre-employment onboarding requirements, including a background check and drug screen.

- Location: Duluth, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2026, with the possibility of continuing through the 2026-27 academic year.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour.
