About the role#
We are looking for an AI Automation Co-op to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will embed with teams across the company to replace manual, repetitive work with AI-powered tooling. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to automations that create real business impact while receiving support and coaching. You will work closely with our AI Automation team to gain exposure to how AI tools, APIs, and no-code platforms solve workflow problems.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and interview non-technical stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Success to understand their workflows.
- Identify repetitive, manual tasks that are candidates for automation.
- Translate workflow problems into clear, scoped technical solutions.
- Build working automations and internal tools using AI-native platforms, APIs, and low-code or no-code tools.
- Ship v1 prototypes quickly to validate value.
- Wire together LLMs, agents, and prompt design patterns with existing systems.
- Iterate on automations based on feedback and real-world use.
- Write clear documentation and contribute to error handling and basic monitoring.
- Maintain a library of reusable templates, prompt patterns, and integration examples.
- Support working sessions and training for non-technical colleagues.
- Collaborate with engineers and operations teammates while contributing to our citizen-developer community.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related program, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience building with code such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Curiosity about AI and automation, including experience with LLMs, prompt design, or no-code tools.
- A bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Comfort picking up new tools quickly.
- Bonus points for familiarity with APIs, scripting, or automation tools like Zapier, Make, or n8n, and experience working with data.
Location & details#
- Term: Winter 2027 (beginning January 2027).
- Work Modality: Hybrid or Remote.
- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
- Compensation: $4,000 per month.
- Status: Paid, full-time position.
