About the role#
Langan is hiring a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for the Winter 2027 term. You will join our team in Boston to support site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design documentation. This role offers the chance to partner with industry leadership on land development projects while gaining hands-on experience.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
- Use engineering software and equipment to create design plans.
- Analyze soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical data to determine project feasibility.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Conduct sidewalk cost estimations.
- Provide field inspection services as needed.
- Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematics to project tasks.
- Collaborate with team members on daily assignments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
