About the role#
Langan is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Parsippany, New Jersey. This role supports site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design documentation. You will work directly with industry leadership on land development projects to gain technical and professional experience.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans.
- Use engineering software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D to complete project tasks.
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical data.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Conduct sidewalk cost estimations and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Provide field inspection services as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on assignments and apply engineering and mathematical techniques.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Preference is given to students in their Junior or Senior year or those pursuing an MS degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
