About the role#
This is a summer 2026 internship based in Duluth, Minnesota. You will work with the Corrosion Control group to support pipeline integrity management projects. This role provides training in engineering procedures, industry standards, and daily work practices. You will gain exposure to contracting, design, and commissioning functions for pipeline facilities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with pipeline integrity management projects.
- Provide field support to engineers and field personnel on cathodic protection and direct assessment tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Help prepare final project reports, technical memorandums, and data deliverables.
- Support project completion using engineering principles.
- Produce design outlines and specification details.
- Provide technical assistance to operations departments to identify and resolve inefficiencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior engineering student.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple assignments.
- Knowledge or interest in the energy industry is a plus.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Duluth, Minnesota.
- Travel is required, up to 25 percent of the time.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, exposure to various weather conditions, and the ability to work long hours or overtime when projects demand.
