About the role#
This is a co-op position based in Waterdown, Ontario. You will join the embedded software team to assist with the development of new products and the maintenance of existing designs. This is a full-time, paid role with terms typically lasting 16 months, though 12-month terms are sometimes available.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the embedded software team on product design cycles.
- Validate, test, and debug both new and existing software designs.
- Analyze product performance to recommend improvements for reliability and cost reduction.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Knowledge of embedded C or C++.
- Experience using Python for scripting.
- Understanding of real-time operating systems and multi-threaded real-time code.
- Familiarity with embedded systems design, covering both hardware and software.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
- Experience with standard test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and signal generators.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills and a self-starting approach to work.
