About the role#
As a Staff Examiner Intern, you will participate in risk-focused statutory examinations alongside experienced professionals. This role provides exposure to property and casualty, life, health, and long-term care insurance companies. You will receive training in industry-specific areas, including information technology, investments, and reinsurance.
What you'll do#
- Learn the risk-focused approach and statutory accounting principles.
- Use TeamMate and other examination tools efficiently.
- Complete assigned tasks while meeting established budgets and schedules.
- Provide regular status updates to your supervisor and communicate potential issues early.
- Understand project expectations and offer ideas for improvements.
- Assist specialists and team members to add value to projects.
- Build your professional network by attending meetings and events.
- Participate in 360 reviews and project debriefings.
- Expand your knowledge of the insurance industry and regulatory framework.
- Document conclusions in your work product.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, risk management, economics, or information science.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel.
