About the role#
KPMG Canada is seeking interns for the Business Strategy and Financial Modeling team. This group advises corporations and institutional investors on strategic, operational, and financial topics across various sectors, including telecommunications, agriculture, healthcare, and energy. Interns will work directly with clients to solve complex business and investment challenges through fundamental analysis.
What you'll do#
- Assist company executives in developing short and medium-term strategic plans, including growth plans, capital structure, and financing needs.
- Conduct market research and financial analysis to support commercial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Support management in establishing assumptions for revenue growth, cost structures, and capital deployment.
- Develop and revise financial models for investment decisions, portfolio analysis, capital allocation, and tax planning.
- Prepare and present Excel and PowerPoint presentations for C-suite executives.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and prospective clients.
What you'll need#
- An excellent academic record in administration, with a focus on accounting or finance.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, judgment, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English, as the role requires daily communication with English-speaking stakeholders and documentation in both languages.
- Experience in financial analysis is an asset.
- A record of extracurricular involvement, such as case competitions or student organizations.
