About the role#
Koppers Inc. is hiring a Tax Intern to join our team in Pittsburgh. This is a part-time, rolling internship. You will work on-site and assist our Tax Department with corporate tax return preparation and compliance tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of federal and state income, property, and sales and use tax returns.
- Use tax compliance software to prepare specific tax forms.
- Create supporting calculations for tax returns.
- Calculate book-to-tax adjustments.
- Respond to tax authority notices through written correspondence or phone calls.
- Gather and summarize state apportionment data.
- Communicate with the Finance Department and other internal teams to collect necessary data.
What you'll need#
- Current progression toward a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Knowledge of accounting, tax, and finance principles, along with financial reporting.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to plan, organize, and monitor your schedule.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- A focus on teamwork, initiative, and maintaining confidentiality.
