About the role#
As an IXL Application Design Engineer Intern, you will support the engineering team in the design and development of rail signaling applications. This role offers hands-on experience with CAD tools, application logic conversion, and plan design. You will work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform minor revisions to existing plan sets using CAD software.
- Review and verify engineer markups against final CAD outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Translate VHLC logic into ELIXS logic using structured work instructions for VHLC replacement projects.
- Modify typical location plans to meet specific project requirements, contributing to basic book of plan development.
- Adapt standard logic sets for new locations, supporting basic application logic creation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
- Basic understanding of logic systems and control applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow structured instructions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
