About the role#
This summer internship supports the Industrial Operations team at our Grain Valley and Warrensburg, Missouri locations. You will contribute to safety, compliance, and project management initiatives while gaining hands-on experience with industrial systems and construction oversight. You will work alongside the Facilities Manager, contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure our facilities meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do#
- Verify Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures by conducting field checks to ensure documentation matches actual equipment configurations.
- Organize and update site equipment directories to improve data accessibility.
- Support the daily oversight of building remodel activities, including tracking project schedules and coordinating communication between vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with site readiness for VPP certification by participating in facility audits, walkthroughs, and documentation efforts.
- Identify compliance gaps and help implement corrective actions.
- Assist the production team with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify waste, machine cycle times, and bottlenecks in the production line.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Tech, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and 365 tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational, time management, and data management skills.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with diverse groups.
- Comfort working around industrial equipment.
- Interest in project management, construction oversight, or safety compliance.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety concepts is a plus.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site at our facilities in Grain Valley and Warrensburg, Missouri.
- You must be able to travel between both sites as needed.
