About the role#
This co-op position is for students pursuing degrees in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related fields. You will work within the Materials department to learn the business of a commercial vehicle supplier from multiple perspectives. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Avon, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Analyze scheduling techniques and parameters to reduce inventory and reach days-of-supply targets.
- Support inventory and demand forecasting for the Sales and Inventory Operating Plan.
- Assist with manufacturing inventory control and the disposition of excess or obsolete material.
- Generate inventory metrics on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Identify and coordinate supplier buy back opportunities.
- Serve as a project management liaison across IT, plant materials, and operations teams.
- Help standardize materials planning processes.
- Work with Global Purchasing Excellence to evaluate how suppliers perform on deliveries.
- Participate in programs to improve customer satisfaction, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited college or university.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral forms.
- Ability to establish trust and credibility.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks at once.
