About the role#
This is a seasonal, full-time internship for Summer 2026 based in Bismarck, North Dakota. As a Quality Control Tech, you will play a critical role in ensuring material quality for construction projects. This position requires on-site work and travel.
What you'll do#
- Safely collect material samples, including crushed stone, aggregate, sand, and gravel.
- Perform laboratory tests on aggregate and concrete materials, such as gradations, shales, air, slump, and unit weight.
- Compile statistical data on test results and perform necessary arithmetic calculations.
- Examine and evaluate data to determine if materials meet project specifications.
- Present alternative actions based on your data evaluations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and conduct finished and in-process inspections.
- Ensure all work activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and other safety and environmental regulations.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with a focus on general education, grammar, and arithmetic.
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Prior experience as an Aggregate or Concrete Tester is desired.
- Basic equipment operation experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Enrollment in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering programs is preferred.
