About the role#
Knife River Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Tech for a seasonal internship during the summer of 2026. This is a full-time, on-site position based in West Fargo, North Dakota, involving travel. The role focuses on material testing and data evaluation to ensure quality standards are met in construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform laboratory tests on aggregate and concrete materials, including gradations, air, slump, and unit weight.
- Collect material samples, identify materials, and compile statistical data on test results.
- Examine and evaluate data to determine material quality in relation to specifications.
- Present alternative actions based on data evaluations and perform necessary arithmetic operations.
- Conduct finished and in-process inspections while maintaining lab equipment.
- Ensure all work activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and safety and environmental regulations.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with proficiency in grammar and arithmetic.
- Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and an acceptable driving record.
- Experience as an Aggregate or Concrete Tester is preferred.
- Basic equipment operation experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: West Fargo, North Dakota.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with Saturday work as needed from 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Hours may vary based on weather and customer demand.
- Requirements: Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
