As a Quality Control Tech Intern, you will play a key role in ensuring construction materials meet rigorous quality standards. This position involves both laboratory testing and field work, requiring you to interact with customers and regulatory personnel to maintain project quality and troubleshoot concerns.
What you'll do#
- Safely collect samples of crushed stone, aggregate, sand, and gravel.
- Test concrete for conformance to specifications and perform trial batches.
- Visit job sites to maintain customer relations, investigate material issues, and resolve quality concerns.
- Compile, examine, and evaluate statistical data from test results.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, company vehicles, and perform daily housekeeping.
- Communicate test results to stakeholders and ensure all activities comply with OSHA and EPA regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or college program focused on Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or related fields such as Construction Management, Materials Management, or Manufacturing.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Commitment to maintaining required MN DOT and ACI certifications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in high-stress situations.
Location & details#
- Location: Bemidji, Minnesota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed.
- Travel: Required.
