    About the role#

    Mass Electric Construction hires Finance Analyst interns to support project-level accounting and business management. You will work on projects ranging from $1 million to $4 billion, functioning as a member of a project team that operates like a small business. This role focuses on cost control, payroll, accounts payable, and human capital management. You will assist with month-end close processes and prepare financial reporting packages for management.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage payroll and HR workflows, including hiring, transfers, and terminations.
    • Oversee purchasing workflows, invoice processing, and accounts payable troubleshooting.
    • Handle intercompany and client billing, ensuring documentation is accurate and timely.
    • Review costs, budget structures, and quantity claiming to ensure accurate reporting.
    • Identify and adjust forecast or budget issues to confirm proper revenue and cost recognition.
    • Collaborate with the operations team and support project needs as they arise.
    • Implement EEO and labor laws at the project level in coordination with the compliance department.

    What you'll need#

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business Administration with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
    • 0-2 years of experience in financial or data analysis.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with a preference for experience using Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.
    • Ability to travel up to 25% and relocate anywhere in the country.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Physical ability to access all parts of a construction site in various climates and environments.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid internship based in Waltham, Massachusetts.
    • The role requires on-site work.
    • Work assignments may involve travel to various project locations across the country.
