About the role#
Kiewit is hiring an Estimating Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within our Infrastructure Design Department, supporting the design-build process for projects in the infrastructure market. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lone Tree, Colorado.
What you'll do#
- Review, analyze, and interpret contract documents such as RFPs and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing tasks for infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with estimators and engineers to provide constructability input and value engineering.
- Participate in task force meetings, brainstorming sessions, and working groups.
- Identify, quantify, and communicate project risks throughout the estimating process.
- Conduct site visits and investigations as needed.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A GPA above 3.0 is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong mathematical and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work safely.
- Willingness to travel as the job requires.
- Availability to work during normal operating hours, with the flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
