About the role#
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is looking for an Electrification Engineer Intern to join the Rail Transit Systems Group in McLean, Virginia. This full-time internship takes place during the summer of 2027. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team focused on design-build infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Create preliminary and detailed engineering designs for facility electrical and traction power systems.
- Run load calculations and coordination studies for traction power and facility electrical systems.
- Conduct Traction Power Load Flow Studies.
- Write technical reports and white papers.
- Carry out field surveys and field tests.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A GPA above 3.0 is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
- Initiative and a focus on detail.
