About the role#
Kentucky Blood Center is seeking a creative intern to assist our communications and marketing team. This role provides hands-on experience in storytelling and content production. You will help illustrate our mission to provide blood products to hospitals across the Commonwealth. This is a paid, part-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Create video, social media, and marketing content to support our publicity efforts.
- Shoot, edit, and produce videos for our digital platforms.
- Develop short-form videos for social media channels.
- Assist the team with developing storytelling strategies.
- Interview blood donors and recipients.
- Support the Marketing Production Designer in creating printed marketing materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program, preferably in marketing, communications, or journalism.
- At least 18 years of age.
- A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and reliable transportation for travel within our service area.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule of up to 15 hours per week.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere Pro.
- Familiarity with social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat.
- Strong initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening, including a background check, criminal history check, and drug test.
- Experience in Photoshop and After Effects is a plus.

About Kentucky Blood Center
Kentucky Blood Center is a community-based nonprofit organization founded in 1968. It provides blood products to more than 70 hospitals across Kentucky. The organization relies on volunteer donors to collect 400 pints of blood daily. It maintains eight donor centers and employs between 201 and 500 people.
