About the role#
As a Food Application Science Intern at Kent Worldwide, you will work in the GPC technical development center. You will assist Application Scientists with projects involving ingredients like starch and maltodextrin. These ingredients support products in the food, pharmaceutical, and personal care industries. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Spend more than 80% of your time performing lab-based work.
- Focus on experimental design, data collection, and hands-on testing of processes and materials.
- Assist in developing formulations and technical documentation.
- Incorporate feedback to refine product prototypes.
- Format development information for sales tools and customer inquiries.
- Adapt to shifting priorities while working across diverse teams.
- Prepare materials and support logistics for food ingredient tradeshows.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Bakery Science, Grain Science, Culinary Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Preference for students in their junior or senior year.
- Hands-on experience in food laboratory settings.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and safe lab practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and digital tools.
- A collaborative mindset.
