About the role#
As a Data Processing Systems Engineer Intern, you will support a systems engineering team at the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science Center. You will work on the Landsat program and other remote sensing initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle while working alongside mentors and experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Assist with requirements development, design, implementation, and test activities for mission-critical systems.
- Create documentation, workflows, and integration plans.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to turn new ideas into reality.
- Support system design, integration, and testing activities as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Three years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation.
