About the role#
Johnsonville is hiring a Food Safety and Quality Co-op to work with the Research and Development team in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, paid position lasting between 6 and 8 months. You will work on-site at the Johnsonville Technical Center, which houses our pilot plant, packaging lab, and product evaluation areas. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Train new and existing members in food safety and quality programs.
- Audit programs to ensure food safety standards and product quality are maintained.
- Identify, define, and solve quality issues.
- Participate in third-party audits.
- Lead a project or team to a successful outcome with minimal instruction.
- Learn about HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SOPs, and other safety plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage changing priorities.
- Travel to other Johnsonville facilities and work off-shift hours as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Food Safety, Quality, Microbiology, or a related field. Junior or senior status is preferred.
- Minimum 2.70 overall GPA and a 3.0 GPA in your core concentration.
- Basic knowledge of food safety requirements such as HACCP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- A basic understanding of statistical quality tools.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team without direct supervision.
- Must be at least 18 years old.

- Location: Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.
- Term options: Winter 2027 (starting January 4) or Summer 2027 (starting May 24).
