About the role#
We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer Co-op to join our Supplier Engineering Team in Danvers, Massachusetts. This is a full-time, paid position that requires working on-site.
What you'll do#
- Support the standardization of manufacturing defect characterization at incoming inspection.
- Serve as a liaison for product development projects regarding new supplier requirements.
- Assist with the Quality at the Source program to increase supplier yields.
- Drive capacity projects to meet business and manufacturing needs.
- Manage component obsolescence and lead second source projects.
- Monitor supplier and component risks while defining mitigation plans.
- Support the transfer of product improvements into production using Design for Manufacturing principles.
- Lead the analysis of defective components and work with vendors to resolve issues.
- Manage supplier process validation activities using a risk-based approach.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate (junior or senior) or Master's program in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Management.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier management, and planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and frequently.
- Capability to prioritize tasks and work independently without direct supervision.
- Familiarity with project management concepts.
- Knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, and kaizen initiatives is preferred.
