About the role#
The Wound Closure & Healing R&D organization is looking for an R&D LCM Co-op to join the MedTech Surgery team in Raritan, New Jersey. This role focuses on the lifecycle management of medical devices and combination products. You will work on design controls, verification and validation activities, and project documentation to support the development of surgical technologies.
What you'll do#
- Perform hands-on laboratory work in chemistry or engineering environments.
- Develop test methods, fixtures, and prototypes.
- Manage product lifecycle activities, including design changes and specification revisions.
- Handle requests from regulatory bodies.
- Write test protocols, generate final reports, and document meeting minutes.
- Create models and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Analyze data and perform statistical evaluations using Minitab.
- Attend and participate in voice-of-customer labs.
- Collaborate with engineers and external suppliers on project activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, having completed at least your freshman year.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the co-op session.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, OneNote, and Teams.
- Practical experience with SolidWorks and Minitab.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated leadership or participation in campus programs and community service.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for future visa sponsorship.
