About the role#
The OT Student Therapy Aide supports the clinical team at Jefferson Moss-Magee in Elkins Park. You will assist therapists with patient treatments and help maintain the clinical environment. This role involves working with diverse age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult populations.
What you'll do#
- Prepare patients and treatment areas for therapy sessions.
- Assist therapists in performing treatments under direct supervision.
- Adapt your approach to meet the developmental and functional needs of each patient.
- Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting weights up to 50 lbs.
- Assist with patient transfers, which may involve weights exceeding 200 lbs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Occupational Therapy program.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- CPR certification via the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in patient care is strongly preferred.
