The Tax Department Intern will gain exposure to international and domestic tax concepts, tax planning, M&A restructuring, and tax compliance. This role involves participating in long-term projects, researching tax laws, and analyzing their application to company operations. Interns will work as part of a team, building professional relationships while receiving coaching and hands-on experience in a global logistics environment.
What you'll do#
- Receive personal coaching and engage in self-study regarding US corporation income tax law and regulations.
- Gain hands-on experience using Checkpoint tax research software and One Source tax provision software.
- Prepare quarterly tax provisions and assist in the preparation of schedules for tax returns.
- Review transfer pricing reports for accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in the implementation of OECD Pillar 2 regulations.
- Interview department heads to document operational priorities and suggest process improvements.
- Participate in internal and third-party calls regarding global and local tax issues.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or Senior status in college with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Major in Accounting, Finance, International Business, or Business Administration.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work both independently and within a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with all levels of employees.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
