About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our Compliance Technology team for the summer of 2027. You will support the firm by building technology solutions that help meet regulatory obligations. You will work with senior engineers and the Legal and Compliance team to design, build, and ship one well-scoped project from start to finish. This project will automate a process that the Compliance team currently handles manually. You will write production-quality code, work with real data, and partner directly with compliance officers.
What you'll do#
- Translate policies and compliance requirements into a technical design.
- Write clean, tested code in Python and SQL, plus front-end work as needed.
- Build dashboards or web interfaces that give compliance users clear, actionable views of exceptions or metrics.
- Validate system output against manual results to confirm accuracy and support auditability.
- Present progress in weekly check-ins and demos.
- Design, build, and ship one well-scoped project end to end.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with an expected graduation in 2028.
- Proficiency in Python or another general-purpose language like Java or C#.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with Git and a solid grasp of data structures and algorithms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A curious mindset with a willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, or another front-end framework and REST APIs is preferred.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Postgres, MySQL, or AWS is preferred.
- Exposure to Docker or CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
- Prior internship or substantial personal or academic projects are preferred.
- Interest in financial markets, trading systems, or regulatory technology is preferred.
