About the role#
We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern to join our technology team in New York. You will design and optimize data systems that support quantitative researchers, data scientists, and portfolio managers. This role focuses on building tools that turn raw data into actionable insights for investment decisions.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for large-scale financial and alternative datasets.
- Improve data quality, integrity, and accessibility across multiple sources.
- Build and refine internal data platforms and UI tools to improve visualization and usability.
- Partner with DevOps to automate the deployment, monitoring, and scaling of data systems.
- Work with quantitative researchers and technologists to operationalize data workflows, models, and analytics tools.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with SQL and data modeling.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
- Exposure to data visualization or internal UI tools like Dash or React.
- A proven ability to improve data quality, automate workflows, and optimize systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

- This internship is based on-site in New York, New York.
- The term is Summer 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
