About the role#
J.D. Irving, Limited is hiring a Supply Chain Student or Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This position is based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and requires a full-time, on-site presence. The role supports the Supply Chain Integration team in long-term strategy projects and daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Manage deliverables and coordination for projects tied to the Supply Chain Long Term Strategy.
- Assist in developing processes, KPIs, training materials, and reporting structures.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to provide progress updates.
- Perform project and team performance reporting.
- Compile and review cost reports, including cost calculations and journal entries, to resolve variances.
- Handle daily management tasks such as Purchase Order approvals, forecast reviews, and vendor historical analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Between 0 and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong academic performance.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and an openness to learning new systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Interest in the shipbuilding, defense, or marine industry.
- Must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
