About the role#
This position offers hands-on experience working with supply chain and design-build teams. You will partner with cross-functional engineering teams to assist in progressing key RCD program initiatives and gain insight into how large-scale engineering projects are coordinated from start to finish. Irving Shipbuilding will cover co-op fees up to $1,000.
What you'll do#
- Prepare presentations relevant to department priorities.
- Synthesize data for department initiatives.
- Communicate and coordinate actions across the team.
- Support Project Engineering VFI tracking.
- Assist with updates to the Master ProcPack Template.
- Help the Platform Systems team track actions to award contracts with vendors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Engineering degree program.
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks with varying priorities.
- Openness to learning and a desire to solve problems.
- An interest in the shipbuilding, defense, or marine industry.
- Experience with 3D model viewers is an asset.
- Ability to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
