Junior Naval Architect Engineer, Co-op

About the role#

Fleetway Inc. is seeking a Junior Naval Architect Engineer for a co-op position in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This role supports Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy and the Halifax Class Design Agent contracts, providing technical data management and engineering support to the Royal Canadian Navy. You will work alongside a team of naval architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and technologists on a variety of government, military, commercial, and industrial projects.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the development of technical studies, drawings, specifications, and 3D models.
• Develop 3D models of ship equipment and compartment arrangements.
• Assist with report writing and equipment selection.
• Participate in engineering change proposals.
• Work on systems integration projects.
• Perform quality control of drawings.
• Conduct engineering analysis, such as finite element analysis.

What you'll need#

• Current enrolment in a Naval Architect Engineering program.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.
• Interest in Rhino or other 3D modeling software.
• Experience with MS Office Suite.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
