About the role#
Fleetway Inc. is seeking a Junior Naval Architect Engineer for a co-op position during the Fall 2026 term. This role supports Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy and Halifax Class Design Agent contracts, providing technical data management and engineering support to the Royal Canadian Navy. You will work alongside a team of naval architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and technologists on a variety of government, military, commercial, and industrial projects. The work experience is tailored to your specific skills and interests, offering either deep focus on a single project or broad exposure across multiple client initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the development of technical studies, drawings, specifications, and 3D models.
- Assist with report writing and equipment selection.
- Contribute to engineering change proposals and systems integration projects.
- Develop 3D models of ship equipment and compartment arrangements.
- Perform quality control of drawings.
- Conduct engineering analysis, including finite element analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrolment in a Naval Architect Engineering program.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD.
- Interest in Rhino or other 3D modeling software.
- Experience with the MS Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government Security Clearance.
