About the role#
J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking a Finance Student to join the finance team in Saint John, New Brunswick, for the Fall 2026 term. This position offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, apply classroom studies to real-world projects, and work alongside divisional leadership. The company will reimburse the co-op fee for students completing their work term, up to $1,000.
What you'll do#
- Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare, verify, and process invoices, bills, and other financial documents.
- Create purchase orders and manage contracts.
- Assist operations with daily activities and provide analysis on costs and profitability.
- Support the generation of financial reports and summaries.
- Gain exposure to data analytics tools to drive process improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or diploma program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
