    About the role#

    J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Technology students for the Fall 2026 work term within the Pulp & Paper Division. This position offers hands-on experience in a safety-conscious environment, providing exposure to all aspects of the electrical and instrumentation trades.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist qualified tradespeople with daily maintenance and operations.
    • Support troubleshooting and programming for distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
    • Participate in the installation and maintenance of control equipment.
    • Contribute to preventative maintenance, process improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a 3-year Electrical, Controls and Technology program with good academic standing.
    • High School Diploma.
    • Availability for full-time work from September to December 2026.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Previous experience in pulp and paper or heavy industry is considered an asset.

    • Locations: Saint John, New Brunswick and Utopia, New Brunswick.
    • Term: Fall 2026 (September to December).
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Employment Type: Full-time.
