About the role#

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Technology students for the Fall 2026 work term within the Pulp & Paper Division. This position offers hands-on experience in a safety-conscious environment, providing exposure to all aspects of the electrical and instrumentation trades.

What you'll do#

Assist qualified tradespeople with daily maintenance and operations.
Support troubleshooting and programming for distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
Participate in the installation and maintenance of control equipment.
Contribute to preventative maintenance, process improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll need#

Enrollment in a 3-year Electrical, Controls and Technology program with good academic standing.
High School Diploma.
Availability for full-time work from September to December 2026.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Previous experience in pulp and paper or heavy industry is considered an asset.

Locations: Saint John, New Brunswick and Utopia, New Brunswick.
Term: Fall 2026 (September to December).
Work Modality: On-site.
