Data Modelling Co-op - Fall 2026

About the role#

Irving Tissue is seeking a Data Modelling Co-op to join the team in Toronto for the Fall 2026 term. This role focuses on supporting manufacturing operations through analytic insights, tool development, and the optimization of data storage and organization. You will work alongside local and corporate teams to help define the future vision for analytics and artificial intelligence within the company.

What you'll do#

• Support daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives by providing analytic insights.
• Lead and support projects to optimize how the business stores and organizes data.
• Develop applications and user interfaces from scratch, with a preference for MS Power Apps.
• Create intuitive tools and dashboards that are accessible to all levels of the organization, from front-line staff to management.
• Teach others new skills and how to effectively use data-based tools.
• Cultivate a culture of data-based decision-making and accountability.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program such as Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Engineering.
• Proficiency in Power BI (DAX and M Language), Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Automate, and SQL.
• Experience with data modelling, database querying, and building business intelligence dashboards and KPIs.
• Knowledge of HTML and user interface design principles.
• Experience working with databases and data warehouses.
• Familiarity with OSI Pi Data Historian, ParcView, RtDuet, or ITop is considered an asset.
• Interest in building forecasting models, artificial intelligence, and decision support systems is an asset.

• Compensation: $25.50 - $27.70 per hour, based on year of study.
