About the role#
The Terrace Dining Services Assistant position offers students the opportunity to gain professional experience while supporting dining operations. This role focuses on delivering high-quality service to guests and assisting with the daily management of dining shifts.
What you'll do#
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure positive guest experiences.
- Assist in managing and running shifts, including the supervision of other student workers.
- Train new student staff on operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation according to standard operating procedures.
- Set up and break down service lines, including the proper storage or disposal of food.
- Replenish service line items from coolers, ovens, and hot boxes as needed.
- Monitor and record food temperatures at designated intervals.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and allergens to assist guests with inquiries.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and management.
What you'll need#
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of food sanitation and safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members and guests.
- Prior experience in managing or training others is required.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Openness to students from all majors including Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Nursing, Public Health, Sociology, and Psychology.
