About the role#
Ithaca College is hiring an undergraduate teaching assistant for the Spanish program. This position supports first-year students by leading drill sessions that reinforce material introduced by the course instructor. You will work in groups of no more than 13 students to build a classroom environment that encourages language practice.
What you'll do#
- Lead 50-minute drill sessions in Spanish.
- Meet weekly with the course instructor to coordinate exercises and discuss material.
- Organize and prepare all session exercises.
- Maintain the classroom atmosphere during your sessions.
- Track attendance and report records to the course instructor.
- Communicate any concerns to the instructor or the program director.
What you'll need#
- Advanced proficiency in Spanish.
- Comfort working in a classroom setting.
- Ability to organize and prepare lesson exercises.
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail for tracking attendance.
- This role is open to students in fields such as Communications, Psychology, Human Resources, Sociology, or Anthropology.
