STUDENT-WICB Station Manager ('26-'27)

About the role#

The WICB Station Manager oversees all operational aspects of the station for a one-year term, spanning the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. The position begins in May 2026 with a training period. Students planning to study abroad during the Spring 2027 semester are encouraged to apply, as exceptions may be made.

What you'll do#

• Guide the management team by helping department heads set goals, providing performance feedback, and resolving staff issues.
• Lead weekly meetings for both the management team and DJ staff to share updates, gather feedback, and track action items.
• Collaborate with the management team to establish station policies that foster productivity, fairness, and inclusivity.
• Maintain technical proficiency to troubleshoot, repair, or upgrade station software and hardware.
• Coordinate with the General Manager to plan events, finalize purchases, and discuss policy updates.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the General Manager.

What you'll need#

• Experience in leadership roles, preferably within media or student organizations.
• A strong understanding of radio broadcasting operations and technical requirements.
• Effective communication skills to lead meetings and guide team members.
• Ability to set clear goals and provide constructive feedback.
• Knowledge of policies that promote a productive and inclusive environment.
• Preferred majors include Communications, Media Studies, or Business Administration.

• Location: Ithaca, New York.

• Compensation: $16 per hour.
