STUDENT-Physical Therapy Teaching Assistant Fall 2026

About the role#

Ithaca College is seeking Physical Therapy Teaching Assistants for the Fall 2026 semester. These roles involve supporting various courses within the Physical Therapy curriculum by assisting with lab instruction, demonstrating clinical techniques, facilitating open labs, and helping with course administration and grading. These positions are paid at a rate of $16.00 per hour.

What you'll do#

• Assist in lab sessions for courses including Musculoskeletal II: Spine, Soft Tissue Examination, Neuroscience, Applied Biomechanics, Wellness & Prevention, and Neuromuscular Foundations.
• Demonstrate clinical techniques, answer student questions, and participate in practical exams.
• Independently supervise open lab sessions for students.
• Assist with the coordination and transport of pediatric equipment and support off-campus lab experiences.
• Help course coordinators with grading assignments, tracking attendance, and maintaining lab equipment and specimens.
• Collaborate with faculty to facilitate small group discussions and support student learning and engagement.

What you'll need#

• Must be a student in good academic standing. Specific requirements vary by course, with several positions requiring DPT II or DPT III status.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the relevant subject area, typically requiring a grade of B+ or better in the specific course being supported.
• Strong verbal communication, professional demeanor, and self-motivation.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
• Punctuality and organizational skills for lab setup and grading tasks.
