STUDENT-WICB Director of Public Relations & Underwriting

About the role#

WICB is seeking a Director of Public Relations and Underwriting for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position offers students an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting while supporting the station.

What you'll do#

• Develop underwriting announcements to support the station.
• Collaborate with the Production Director to create audio PSAs and underwriting announcements.
• Solicit funds via underwriting opportunities by working with community organizations, companies, and individuals.
• Attend weekly WICB Executive Staff meetings and General Staff meetings, held Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

What you'll need#

• Membership in WICB for at least one semester.
• Strong communication skills, both in-person and via email.
• Organized and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
• Outgoing personality with a willingness to engage with the community.
• Ability to work as a collaborative team player.
• Preferred majors include Communications, Marketing, or Public Health.

• Location: Ithaca, New York.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
• Status: Part-time, paid position.
