About the role#
The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures is hiring an undergraduate teaching assistant for Italian. You will lead 50-minute drill sessions for first-year students to reinforce material introduced by the course instructor. This role is part of a program designed to help you gain confidence leading a classroom while providing support to students.
What you'll do#
- Lead drill sessions for groups of up to 13 students.
- Meet weekly with the course instructor to coordinate exercises and discuss material.
- Organize and prepare all exercises for your sessions.
- Present drills and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Track attendance for all sessions and report records to the instructor.
- Communicate any concerns to the course instructor or the T.A. Program Director.
What you'll need#
- Status as an advanced language student.
- Ability to attend a brief training program before beginning your duties.

- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Employment type: Part-time, on-site.
- Pay rate: $16.00 per hour.
